With effect from April 2011, the right to request flexible working is available to parents of all children aged under 18 and also to carers of adults. So it would seem that more employers will be faced with requests from their employees for a variety of different working patterns, at a time when many are already stretched and are struggling to cover their existing workload with fewer staff.
